My friend Mary offered a wonderful comment about the manner in which Melisa has presented her lesson to the precious African women she is with:
“Tears are a universal language that women everywhere can relate to. Tell Melisa her vulnerability, and her willingness to sacrifice, will be one of the most powerful “lessons” she will teach – as has already been evidenced through the hugs and tears of the women.”
Of course, these are the very things Jesus did for us: shed tears, gave hugs, and sacrificed everything…the ultimate teacher.
